Upcoming Extended Data Access Interruption
Processing and Data Portals unavailable on November 25, 2024
Access to Landsat products and other data held in the USGS EROS archive will be unavailable from 6:00 am to 8:00 pm CST on Monday, November 25, 2024, while major database updates are applied and standard maintenance activities are done on EROS data distribution systems.
All USGS EROS data portals will be affected by this interruption – EarthExplorer, Machine-to-Machine, GloVis, LandsatLook, and the ESPA on demand interface. The EROS Registration System (ERS) will also be unavailable as user logins will be disabled. Direct access to the Landsat commercial cloud environment will remain available but no new data will be added on November 25th.
The processing of all Landsat products will also be paused. Landsat 8 and Landsat 9 data acquired on November 25th will be held until systems resume processing.
Please note: While we expect the work to be completed by 8:00 pm, additional time may be required to finalize the updates. This would delay the restart of processing and distribution systems. Follow up messages will be posted if this work extends beyond the expected completion time.
We apologize for this extended interruption and appreciate your patience and understanding. Please contact EROS User Services with any questions or concerns about this notice.
